Who I Work With

My practice focuses on individuals who feel they fall outside of traditional narratives of what our lives "should" look like. This may show up in your relationships, sexuality, gender, or general approach to life. Through our work together, I can help you identify what works for you and what is better left behind.

I might be the right fit if…

  • You identify as LGBTQ+ and want a therapist who truly gets it not one you have to educate

  • You're navigating anxiety, depression, or a persistent feeling that something is off

  • You're processing trauma or experiences from your past that still show up in your present

  • You're exploring your gender or sexuality, at any stage of that process

  • You're in the middle of a big life transition — a relationship, a career, a loss, a reinvention

  • You want a therapist who will collaborate with you, not just hand you a workbook

  • You're a therapist yourself, looking for your own space to process and grow

A note on fit

Not every therapist is the right therapist for every person, and that's okay. I work best with people who are looking for a collaborative, reflective relationship. If you're in acute crisis or need a higher level of care, I'm happy to help you find the right support. And if we get on a call and it doesn't feel like a match, I'll always do my best to point you in a good direction.

How I Actually Work

My approach is rooted in existential and feminist therapy. In plain terms: I believe we all wrestle with the same fundamental human questions about identity, meaning, connection, and how to live, but the way those questions show up is shaped by who we are and the world we live in. I can't separate your inner experience from the systems and structures around you, and I don't try to.

I also integrate other approaches depending on what's most useful for you. I draw from ACT, DBT, and mindfulness practices when they're the right fit — not because I follow a script, but because different people need different tools.

What To Expect

1 Free 15-minute consultation

We start with a brief phone call. You can ask questions, share a little about what's bringing you to therapy, and get a sense of whether we click. I'll do the same. If it feels like a good fit for both of us, we'll move forward.

2 First session — getting to know each other

The first session is about orientation, not diagnosis. I'll ask questions about your background, what's bringing you in, and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. You share what feels comfortable and we go at your pace. By the end, we'll have a starting direction.

3 Ongoing sessions — the actual work

Most clients meet weekly, at least to start. Sessions are one hour via SimplePractice, a secure video platform that works in your browser, no app required. As we work together, we check in regularly on how things are feeling and adjust direction as needed. You're always in the driver's seat.

4 Progress on your terms

There's no fixed timeline. Some people find that a few months of focused work is enough; others prefer longer-term support. We'll talk about what makes sense for you as we go and when the time comes to wrap up, we'll do that thoughtfully too.

A Note on Identity

You don't have to explain yourself here

As a queer therapist, I bring lived experience to this work alongside clinical training. LGBTQ+ clients don't have to spend session time educating me on what it means to navigate the world as a queer or trans person, that foundation is already here. Whether you're out, still figuring it out, or somewhere in between, you're welcome exactly as you are.

I'm also actively committed to anti-racism in my practice and my life. I work to hold space for the full complexity of my clients' identities, including race, class, disability, and all the ways those intersect with queerness and mental health.

Fees & Insurance

I want getting started to feel as straightforward as possible and that includes knowing what to expect financially.

My fee is $200 per 55-minute session, due at the time of service. I accept all major credit/debit cards, HSA, and FSA cards. I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and will handle submitting claims on your behalf. You'll be responsible for any copay, coinsurance, or deductible based on your plan. If you have out-of-network benefits through another insurer, I can provide a superbill after each session for you to submit for potential reimbursement.

Some clients also choose to pay out of pocket entirely for greater privacy, flexibility, or simply because it works better for them. There's no wrong answer here.

Not sure what your plan covers? A quick call to the member services number on your insurance card is usually the fastest way to find out. And if you have questions, you're always welcome to reach out.
